Welcome to OUR radar products PAGES
The following provide a brief description of each product
PPI: The Plan Position Indicator is set at different ranges and provides a horizontal view of moisture echoes.
The algorithm starts with a volume data set with at least one elevation. A constant elevation surface is extracted and converted to an output image.
|
400 km PPI is the PPI imagery for a radius of 400 km away from the radar.
|
The Cloud Height (MAX) product provides both a horizontal and a vertical view of the moisture echoes.
The algorithm takes a polar volume set, converts it to a Cartesian volume, generates three sub-images (N-S, W-E, TOP) and combines them to the displayed image.
|
Rainfall Intensity: The Surface Rainfall Intensity (SRI) provides a horizontal view of
rainfall intensity; it generates an image of the rainfall intensity on a user selectable surface layer with a constant height above ground. This layer is following the
terrain. The SRI is used as input for most of the other hydrological products.
|
The Echo Height (EHT) product is a calculation of the height of the target (rain / cloud droplets) above the ground.
|
H-Wind: Horizontal Wind provides a horizontal view of winds calculated at a selected height above the surface. The horizontal
wind vectors are calculated for a grid of locations within the radar coverage.
|
V-Wind: Vertical Wind provides a vertical profile of winds from the surface or a specified lower level to a specified height above the surface.
From this product, the change in wind speed and direction with height can be seen.
